This song was written the night that Jerry Garcia died. My brother Barry and I closed our family bar (the Alibi Room) and came up with the lyrics. Barry wrote most of first and second verses while I finished the chorus and last verse. We did have some inspiration in the form of Rob Cady, Rick Roberts and uncountable rounds of kamakazis which lasted until daylight. Rob helped me out with the line "what do you think of me so far?"  It was our private joke about a mutual female friend of ours.
